By nightfall, Arav’s body had finally stopped trembling, but the aftereffects still clung to him like a second skin. Every step he took sent a soft shock up his spine, and he winced as he walked across the room, holding the small of his back with one hand. His legs felt like they belonged to someone else—loose, weak, uncooperative. Each movement reminded him of exactly what Keshav had done to him hours ago.
