Author's POV:
Keshav had been shifted from the ICU to a normal room that morning. The quiet hum of machines was gone, replaced by the faint beeping from the corridor and the muffled sounds of nurses talking outside. He sat half-upright on the bed, his chest bandaged . The room smelled faintly of disinfectant and cotton. His eyes drifted to the window — the only thing that didn't look lifeless. A few birds darted past, their wings cutting through the soft afternoon light.
